Shirt sales have gone through the roof for Bergvall

Fotbollskanalen have now revealed that the new Tottenham signing is the most popular player at Djurgardens off the pitch. The outlet took a look at the shirt sale data of the various Djurgardens players and Bergvall comes out comfortably out on top.

This was confirmed by Tommie Lindberg, who is in charge of the club’s operations, with the official explaining that the midfielder’s shirt sells three times more than any other player.

Lindberg was quoted by the publication as saying: “Lucas Bergvall is at the top when you look at sales during this year. Right now, number one sells about three times more shirts than those placed in places two to five.”

When the youngster was asked about the spike in shirt sales, he responded: “It was actually unexpected. It really was. It was my first year in Djurgården and I didn’t play much. It was a bit up and down and I was injured a lot and so on.

“It’s fun and of course, it makes you proud that people want to buy the jersey with that name on the back, absolutely. It feels good in the heart.”

Bergvall is now the undisputed superstar at Djurgardens, which is impressive considering he just turned 18. He is now a big fish in a small pond at the Swedish club and will have to get used to being a small fish in a big pond when he arrives at Tottenham.
