Micky van de Ven has backed one of his Tottenham Hotspur teammates to have a fantastic season.

Tottenham’s centre-back partnership
While a lot has been said and written about Tottenham’s defensive frailties since Ange Postecoglou arrived, hardly anyone would suggest that the issues are down to the club’s central defenders.
Both Romero and Van de Ven have played out of their skins since the start of last season and the pair complement one another excellently, with the former being aggressive and the latter sweeping up in-behind with his electric pace.
If Tottenham are to have a good season, Postecoglou will have to do his best to keep the pair fit.

Van de Ven makes Romero prediction
Van de Ven is clearly a big fan of his centre-back partner, backing the Argentine World Cup-winner to have a great season for the Lilywhites.
When asked in a Q&A with Science in Sport to name the player who Tottenham fans should look out for his season, he provided Romero’s name.
In the interview, Van de Ven also admitted his winning goal away to Luton Town last season was his favourite memory in football so far.

Is Romero still underrated?
While Spurs fans know just how complete a centre-back Romero is and the defender is seen as one of the best in the world back in Argentina, he perhaps still is not recognised in the English media as one of the best in the Premier League.
That is perhaps because the 26-year-old has struggled to shake off the reputation of being rash and hot-headed.
However, Romero’s disciplinary record over the last 12 months is evidence that the Spurs vice-captain has ironed out that flaw from his game.
