Hamburg have ruled themself out of a move for Tottenham midfielder Rafael van der Vaart.

Every week the Dutch international is linked with a return to his former club but it appears is if they do not have the money to persuade Spurs to part with Rafa.

AVB was quoted on the weekend stating his important VDV is to his plans for the upcoming season – which is great news for Spurs fans.

Hamburg chairman Carl Edgar Jarchow told Bild: “We cannot finance a move for Rafael van der Vaart.”

  1. Modric is gone,we need to keep our quality players not sell.

Fair enough Modric wanted out last yr,but I think for the money we can have a better team, but rafa won’t bring the mega bucks he’s worth,so if AVB let’s him go we made a big mistake.

We only needed a new GK,CB,CAM,ST(2) and we have a team to have a real go for the title, and we have got Vertonghan,Sigurdson and Ade.So all we need now is a new GK a 2nd ST and a replacement for Modric.

Theres loads of good keepers out there that wouldn’t break the bank, personally I would grab Vorm off swansea.

Remy makes most sense as 2nd ST as he can also play wide.

That leaves replacing the little magician which ain’t easy but a way out without spending all the money we get for him and it all going wrong(25m man u payed for Anderson)would be Cabaye at around 15m with prem experience and has goals in him, which for all his brilliance Modric lacked.

With the quality of some of our youth(Caulker,Naughton,FalqueCoulibaly,Rose,Livermore,Kane)to name a few,if we add those players to go with what we have and with everyone 100% behind AVB I think his tactical prowess will see us alright come the run in which Redknapp obviously didn’t know how to deal with as the past two seasons have shown
