Rafael van der Vaart has already got a place in the heart of Spurs fans but has gone and increased this by admitting that Spurs are a bigger club than Arsenal.
The Dutchman could play in his first North London derby in the Carling Cup tie against Arsenal at White Hart Lane tomorrow night and could do battle against his friend Robin van Persie.
He said: “Spurs are the bigger club.”
“Everybody has been talking about the Arsenal match all week,” he added.
“Robin told me when we were together in the national team what a big game it is. I’m really looking forward to it.”
“We are a team who love to play football,” he continued. “Although I have only been in England two weeks, I love it.
“The speed of the game is much higher than in Madrid. Teams like Wolves are really strong and run all the time. You don’t get a break.”
