Van der Vaart: I would stay here for the rest of my career

It’s the news which every Spurs fan wanted to hear, Rafael van der Vaart wants to stay at Tottenham Hotspur for the rest of his career.

The 27-year-old has a further three-and-a-half years to run on his deal at White Hart Lane, but loves playing for the club.

“I love it here,” Van der Vaart told The Sun. “I love the players and I love the down-to-earth attitude at the club. If I have the opportunity, I would stay here for the rest of my career.”

“Tottenham-United is the biggest game of the Premier League this season,” he said ahead of Sunday’s game against Manchester United. “Not only for us at Spurs but for all the Premier League because United are unbeaten.

“If we beat them, it opens up the league for everyone else who is chasing the title. And that includes us – we’ve got the squad to win the league.”
