Spurs defender set for Russian switch

Vedran Corluka - Tottenham Hotspur Football News

Tottenham right-back Vedran Corluka is set to join Lokomotiv Moscow after Euro 2012.

The Daily Mail reports that Charlie, who has lost his place in the Spurs starting line-up due to the emergence of Kyle Walker will move to Russia now that Croatia have been knocked out of the tournament.

Corluka spent the second half of last season on loan at German outfit Bayer Leverkusen in order to get regular first-team football ahead of the tournament.

The 26-year-old joined us from Manchester City on September 1st 2008 from Manchester City on a six-year deal for a fee of £5.5million.  Charlie has made 81 Premier League appearances in a Spurs shirt and looks to have played his last game for the club.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. the transfer of of corluca.many spurs fans will be sad to see him go.one paced, but read a game well.walker has more allround ability and being young and now a international has the advantage.its still sad and we wish him well.

  2. I agree he's slow and cumbersome and maybe better utilised as a centre-back as he gets older, he could always read the game well as a right back trouble was he couldnt get there quick enough. Walker may not read the game as well (yet) but can get there double quick! But how good did Modric look last night against the world champs, in one way good cos his pricetag will go up but I think the first job the new manager has to do is get him to stay and reproduce this kind of form on a regular basis for us.
