Versatile Tottenham midfielder leaves the club on deadline day loan move

Derby County have confirmed that Harvey White is joining on loan for the rest of the season from Tottenham Hotspur.

Football Insider reported yesterday that the 21-year-old was attracting interest from a number of clubs below the Premier League including West Brom and Luton of the Championship and League One’s Oxford United and Barnsley, however, the Rams have won the race.

White has been a regular face in and around the Tottenham first team this season with the versatile midfielder often spotted in training with Antonio Conte’s side and travelling with the Spurs as a backup.

White has previous loan experience, having joined Portsmouth for the second half of the 2020-21 season in League One, where he went on to play 22 times across all competitions, scoring one goal (transfermarkt).

I have felt sorry for White, who is a very talented player and also very versatile.  It was a big moment for him to get his Premier League debut in the 4-0 win against Crystal Palace recently.

Hopefully, he can now go and play regular first-team football at a lower level and showcase his talents before returning for pre-season in the summer.

With the likes of Oliver Skipp and Pape Matar Sarr ahead of him as the younger midfielders in the pecking order at N17, it makes perfect sense for White to get his second taste of a loan deal.
