Vertonghen and Eriksen send messages to Spurs on Carabao Cup Final day

Jan Vertonghen and Christian Eriksen have both taken to Twitter to support their former club, Tottenham Hotspur as the Lilywhites prepare for a Carabao Cup Final against Man City at Wembley this evening.

Vertonghen left North London at the end of last season and eventually joined Benfica on a free transfer where he has enjoyed an excellent season.

The Belgian centre-back spent eight great seasons with Tottenham and was part of the side that made the 2019 Champions League Final. Unfortunately, he left North London without any winner’s medals to show for his time.

The same can be said of Christian Eriksen who left the club around six months before Vertonghen in the January transfer window.

The Great Dane moved to Inter Milan after seven years with Tottenham and is fighting for the Serie A title over in Italy.

Vertonghen took to Twitter to say that it was a ‘big day’ for Tottenham, as well as including a load of raising hand emojis. Eriksen then quote tweeted this with three raised hands of his own.

It seems they are both still Spurs through and through.
