Dutch paper claims Vertonghen deal is done

It’s hard to keep up with exactly is the latest developments in the protracted Jan Vertonghen to Tottenham saga.

Dutch paper De Telegraaf are today claiming that an agreement has been reached after hours of negotiations and the Ajax skipper will sign a four-year-deal at Spurs with the option of two more.

It goes on to suggest that a £9million upfront fee will be paid with a further £3million in add-ons for Vertonghen who has a year to run on his deal with the Dutch giants.

I’m sure we’ll be able to read further into this later this afternoon to see if Vertonghen will be present in Ajax’s pre-season friendly against FC Emmen.

Hopefully we can now put this to bed and welcome Vertonghen to the club, then again this is Tottenham we are talking about!
