The Jan Vertonghen saga, we just cannot keep up with it. The latest twist has unfolded with Ajax boss Frank de Boer expecting that the defender will tie up a move to Spurs.
Yesterday it was revealed that the Ajax skipper was entitled to a 15% share of the proposed £9.2million fee, with Ajax said to be disputing the agreement.
However, De Boer told reporters at a press conference on Wednesday that is transfer is “very close” to completion.
“We’re very close,” the former Netherlands defender said. “But if the deal is not done, Jan must start his training next week with us.
“I was in the same situation [when he left Ajax for Barcelona in 1999]. But, eventually, I expect the deal will be done. I expect everything will be alright.”
