Alasdair Gold has insisted that Tottenham Hotspur have made it absolutely clear that they would reject a bid for Harry Kane should they receive such an offer.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein had moments ago revealed that Bayern Munich have now launched an opening offer for Kane.
On Monday, Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg took to social media to state that Kane remains Bayern Munich’s top target and that the Bundesliga giants are continuing to discuss a move for the Tottenham man.
The journalist added that the Bavarians had been informed by the England captain’s entourage that a switch to the Allianz Arena would be his top preference this summer.
Spurs will reject Bayern Munich bid for Harry Kane
Plettenberg also asserted that Bayern are now ‘planning the next steps’ and are ‘optimistic’ of getting the Spurs star for less than €100m (£86m).
If Ornstein’s latest update is to be believed, the German club now launched an opening offer for Kane worth €70m (£60.1m) plus add-ons and added that the 29-year-old remains high on Thomas Tuchel’s list of priorities.
Gold took to Twitter to say: “Spurs still making it very clear that they would immediately reject a bid for Harry Kane should they receive one.”
Spurs Web Opinion
There is no doubt that Levy would be more willing to sell Kane to Bayern than a Premier League rival and the Spurs chairman might even be tempted to accept a lower fee from an overseas club. However, I am not convinced that the Tottenham striker would be too keen on heading to the Bundesliga.
