France captain Hugo Lloris has sung the praises of rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Adrien Rabiot.

CalcioMercato claimed earlier this week that the Juventus midfielder was attracting interest from Spurs, along with Arsenal and Chelsea.

Rabiot reportedly snubbed a move to the north Londoners back in 2018 while at PSG while Mauricio Pochettino was still in charge and according to ESPN, a source close to the player claimed that Tottenham are considered “below” his standards.

The 27-year-old has started every game this season for Juventus when he has been available and has also impressed in both of France’s opening two World Cup fixtures, helpin his nation to become the first to qualify for the next round (transfermarkt).

Rabiot has also been linked with a move to Manchester United and admitted in an interview with ESPN that he would be open to a move to the Premier League, but for now is focusing on the tournament in Qatar.

Lloris told The Daily Mail: “There’s an opportunity for him at this World Cup. It’s arrived at the right time and he’s ready.

“Technically he’s a very elegant player and he really can help us go far.

“People have always talked about his ability and you can see how he’s been playing for Juve. He’s got the talent but also works incredibly hard, he covers a lot of ground.”

Rabiot is out of contract next summer and will want to command a hefty salary if he is to leave Juventus as a free agent.  His opinion of Spurs back in 2018 still leaves a sour taste in the mouth and Paratici and co should look to focus on targets who perfectly fit the mold of Antonio Conte both tactically and from an attitude perspective – something which Rabiot lacks.
