Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn has described Harry Kane as a ‘very good player’ when asked about the speculation linking the Tottenham man with a move to the Allianz Arena next summer.

There has been a lot of speculation over Kane’s future in recent months, with the striker’s current deal at the North London club running until the summer of 2024 (Transfermarkt).

German publications continue to link the England captain with a move to Bayern, with the 29-year-old alleged to be the Bundesliga giants’ top target to replace Robert Lewandowski, who completed a switch to Barcelona this summer (TZ).

Sport BILD’s Christian Falk reiterated the same on the Bayern Insider podcast two weeks ago, with the journalist revealing that Julian Nagelsmann’s side will prioritise a move for Kane next summer.

However, reports in the British press have continued to insist that the striker is open to starting talks with Spurs over a new deal when the time is right (Football.London’s Alasdair Gold).

Kahn has now described Kane as a ‘good player’ but refused to talk publicly about Bayern’s alleged interest in the Spurs man.

When asked about the Tottenham striker, the Bayern legend told Sky Germany: “[Kane] is a very good player, but there are also other good players. We deal with many players. It’s not okay to talk about players who are under contract with other clubs.”

These rumours will continue to persist until Kane puts pen to paper on a new contact. I fully expect Tottenham to accelerate talks with the striker’s entourage over a new deal following the World Cup. The club will likely be concentrating their efforts on tying Antonio Conte down at the moment.
