‘Very interesting’ – Journalist claims Chelsea are keen on Tottenham player

Chelsea are reportedly interested in Tottenham striker Harry Kane but are aware of the North London club’s preference not to sell him to another English side, according to journalist Christian Falk.

The Blues are thought to be keeping tabs on England captain Kane but believe Spurs would rather send him to a club abroad – such as German side Bayern Munich – rather than a domestic rival.

Speculation linking the 28-year-old with a move to the Bundesliga club has increased in recent days as Bayern continue their search to find a replacement for Robert Lewandowski.

Kicker reported Kane is on Julian Nagelsmann’s radar this summer, however journalist Florian Plettenburg claimed he would not be an immediate target for the current transfer window, rather for next year instead.

But Spurs have sought to reinforce possession of Kane, with Football.London claiming they are planning to offer him a new contract with the striker pleased with the club’s progress under Antonio Conte.

Kane’s form took an upward trajectory last season after the Italian coach’s arrival and he has been in sharp form over pre-season with five goals in three outings so far.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Spurs would usually try to profit from their best players in the past, things have changed and they are standing firm with keeping their top assets.

Spurs and Chelsea are rivals on and off the field so it is hard to imagine any sort of deal being made between them, especially when it comes to a player of Kane’s calibre.
