‘Very nice place to go’ – Journalist hints that Spurs would be a good move for winger

Norwegian journalist and broadcaster Oyvind Alsaker has told Antonio Nusa that Tottenham would be the perfect move for him at this stage of his career, given the nature of the project that Ange Postecoglou is currently spearheading in London.

Since arriving at Spurs in the summer, Postecoglou has shown a clear preference for dynamic, aggressive and quick wide players, with the likes of Manor Solomon, Brennan Johnson and Timo Werner all fitting that profile.

So, it does not come as a surprise to hear that the North London club are now in talks with Club Brugge over a deal for Nusa, who has set Belgian football alight over the last 18 months with his inventive dribbling and his fearless style.

According to reports over the last couple of days, Spurs are looking to conclude a €30m (£25.7m) deal for the teenager, which would see him loaned back to Brugge until the end of the season (The Athletic).

Should Tottenham splash the cash on Antonio Nusa?

Alsaker is not surprised that a club of Tottenham’s stature are showing an interest in Nusa, with the journalist opining that the 18-year-old can thrive under Postecoglou.

When asked about the Premier League side’s rumoured interest in Nusa, the journalist told Norwegian outlet VG (as relayed by Sport Witness): “Tottenham is a quantum leap from Club Brugge. At the same time, it’s understandable given the way he entered the scene, both for Brugge and especially for the national team.

“It’s rare to see a young boy come in for a national team and have such an impact. Tottenham is a very nice place to go.

“There’s a positive atmosphere there now, with a great manager who loves pace up top and players with an X-factor. There’s a nice ‘go’ at that club and a good time to come in. It hasn’t always been like that.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I think it is fair to say that six months ago, a young talent like Nusa, who will not be short of offers, would have had serious doubts about a move to Tottenham.

However, as Alsaker points out, the project at N17 is now seen very differently by prospective new signings, particularly by up-and-coming players, with Ange creating an environment that is ideal for youngsters to thrive.
