Victor Wanyama sends classy message to Spurs fans after leaving North London

Victor Wanyama has taken to Twitter to send a message to Tottenham Hotspur fans after ending his spell in North London.

The 28-year-old midfielder has agreed a three-year deal with MLS side Montreal Impact which will see him make the move to North America on a free transfer.

Wanyama, who joined Spurs from Southampton for £11million in 2016 was a revelation under Mauricio Pochettino in his first season at the club.

The Kenyan reflected upon some of his highlights whilst at the club including finishing second in the Premier League along with the appearance in last season’s Champions League final.

In a classy message, he thanked the Spurs supporters whilst also admitting that he will always be grateful for having pulled on the famous lilywhite shirt.

He found himself out of favour under Jose Mourinho with the Portuguese instead deciding to give midfield opportunities to the likes of Harry Winks, Tanguy Ndombele, Moussa Sissoko, Oliver Skipp and Gedson Fernandes.
