Tottenham Hotspur were embarrassing with their performance against Aston Villa this evening after suffering a 2-1 defeat and the shambles continued after the final whistle.
40 minutes after the final whistle, pockets of frustrated Spurs fans who refused to leave their seats until the ‘lap of appreciation’ had taken place were greeted with a handful of players including Harry Kane and Gareth Bale returning to applaud while many of the supporters had left the stadium after being told by the club’s PA system to have a safe journey home.
The sheer confusion and delay has robbed the chance of many fans who paid £60 the chance to see the players after the match.
It certainly has been an unsavoury return to the stadium for the 10,000 fans who made the journey to North London.
