Tottenham Hotspur confirmed yesterday that Toby Alderweireld had committed his future to the club.
The Belgian defender signed a new deal which will extend his stay in North London until 2023.
talkSPORT presenter Adrian Durham admitted that he was amazed that the likes of Manchester United did not make the most of the opportunity to sign the 30-year-old for £25million.
Alderweireld was available for the cut-price fee when a club could have triggered the release clause which ran from the start of the 2019 summer transfer window until the last two weeks (Guardian).
