Video: Adrian Durham labels Spurs star a ‘cheerleader’

talkSPORT radio host Adrian Durham has likened Gareth Bale’s role at Tottenham Hotspur to that of a cheerleader.

The 31-year-old returned to Tottenham on a season long loan deal from Real Madrid in the summer but has had a limited impact during his time back in North London.

The Welshman has only made twelve appearances in all competitions and was left on the bench against Fulham on Wednesday night despite Jose Mourinho’s side needing to score in the last fifteen minutes of the encounter following Ivan Cavaleiro’s equaliser.

Durham labelled Bale a cheerleader seemingly in reference to the incident in the FA Cup tie at Marine on Sunday which saw the Champions League winger laughing and brandishing a pretend card when Dele Alli slipped during the match (BBC MOTD / Twitter).

He claimed that he is currently witnessing the reason why Real Madrid did not play the left-footer as much as some would have expected
