Video: Alan Shearer highlights the decline of Tottenham’s pressing game

Tottenham Hotspur’s 3-0 defeat at Brighton yesterday afternoon was just the latest blow in what has already been a season to forget for supporters of the North London side.

Those who watch Mauricio Pochettino’s side week in, week out will have noticed that the players do not seem to be pressing at the same intensity as to what they have done in previous seasons.

Former Newcastle striker Alan Shearer claimed that Spurs were outfought, outplayed and outrun against the Seagulls with Brighton running 7.5km more than their opponents.

Shearer referred to how Tottenham used to press opponents in previous seasons and have slipped over the last year or so which has been coupled by a lack of heart and fight from Mauricio Pochettino’s players.

Opinion

The players look tired and lethargic despite the season being in it’s infancy which is a huge concern. Woth two weeks before our next match, Mauricio Pochettino needs to seriously rethink his tactics ahead of the visit of Watford.
