Video: Alan Shearer reveals what he would do about his future if he was Harry Kane

Former Newcastle United and Blackburn Rovers forward Alan Shearer has claimed that the current state of Tottenham Hotspur’s on-field performance will give Harry Kane ample reason to leave the club.

Gary Lineker posed the question to Shearer during last night’s Match of the Day show on BBC 1 about whether the lacklustre display during the 3-1 defeat against Leeds United would play a factor in any decision which Kane will make about his future at the end of the season.

Shearer admitted that if he was in Kane’s shoes he would look to depart the North Londoners in order to win silverware, something which he has failed to do during his time at the club.

The defeat at Elland Road has all but ended any hopes that Spurs would have harboured to gatecrash the top four and return to Champions League football.

Sky Sports have previously reported that the England captain will ask to leave the club this summer if they are unable to secure a place in the Champions League.
