Jose Mourinho has revealed that he has sent Harry Kane a message of support yesterday ahead of the striker’s European Championship campaign with England.
The former Tottenham Hotspur boss, who was sacked in April claimed that Kane, along with any former players are his ‘boy’, even when he no longer manages them.
Mourinho revealed during a live interview with talkSPORT that Kane will look to replicate what he did at Tottenham with his tendency to drop into midfield to get in-between the lines, praising his technical ability given his ability to assist and link the play.
The Portuguese stressed that it cannot be Kane’s sole responsibility to score goals for England during the tournament given the captain’s style of play to create space for his team-mates in advanced positions.
“When a player is my boy, he is always my boy, even when we’re not together.”
“I did yesterday [send him a message].”
