When you mention Tottenham, Ledley King, and Peter Crouch in the same breath, many people will think of the Lilywhite’s first ever Champions League team.

Crouchy secured a spot in the top four with his infamous header against Man City at the Etihad, with King captaining his beloved Tottenham at the time.

However, what some people don’t realise is that Crouch and King were actually both in the Spurs youth ranks together.

Some has now uncovered an old clip from 1996 in which Ledley King scored a blunder of an own goal and Crouchy found the back of the net against Brondby.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Why is not Ledley King as respected as a Terry or Gerrard!? Whenever you write about him it should be Mr Tottenham and legend. The man played his entire senior career for us and should always be written first in front of Crouchy or any other player bar a few from a different era(perhaps). It’s sad to see that there is no consensus but just randomly written here or there
