Video: Andy Gray and Alan Pardew disagree on incident during Everton and Spurs match

VAR was once again at the centre of controversy during the match between Everton and Tottenham Hotspur yesterday afternoon.

In a game between two out of form sides, chances were few and far between with neither team at their creative best.

Spurs took the lead on 63 minutes when Dele Alli punished Alex Iwobi’s loose pass to put the away side ahead.

Everton had a penalty claim of their own when there was a claim that Dele had handled the ball in the box from a corner but after a three minute review by VAR, it was dismissed to the frustration of the home fans.

Andy Gray and Alan Pardew were on the punditry panel for beIN Sports with the pair having a differing opinion on the incident.

While Pardew felt that Dele had jumped with his arms raised to protect himself, Gray felt that because the midfielder’s arm was in an unnatural position it should have been a spot kick for his former side in line with the rules.
