The injury list has been piling up, with names such as Harry Kane, Heung-min Son, Moussa Sissoko, and more.
Without any natural strike options at the top end of the pitch, Mourinho has been deploying makeshift figures such as Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn, pointing out the difficulty of the situation (Daily Mail).
However, Arsenal legend Paul Merson has now accused the experienced head coach of making excuses:
