Video: Arsenal legend insists Tottenham have ‘zero chance’ of winning the league

Former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson has blasted the way Tottenham Hotspur defended against West Ham last weekend and said that he saw enough evidence in that game to suggest that the Lilywhites have no chance of winning the league title.

The Premier League has thrown up some unpredictable results at the start of the season and it is looking like this campaign might be much more open than the last few years.

Spurs raced into a 3-0 lead against West Ham within the first 16 minutes of the match and were seemingly sending a statement to the rest of the Premier League about their title credentials.

However, Mourinho’s men collapsed in the final ten minutes of the game as they conceded from a set-piece before Davinson Sanchez headed into his own net to set up a nervy finish.

Manuel Lanzini then scored a wondergoal with the last kick of the game to salvage a point for David Moyes’ side.

Merson is convinced on the back of Tottenham’s capitulation last week that they are not in contention to win the league this season.
