Video: ‘Average’ – Hugo Lloris gives his opinion on the defeat to Arsenal

Tottenham Hotspur captain Hugo Lloris claimed that his side’s performance in the 2-1 defeat to Arsenal was a contrast from what they had planned to play ahead of the game.

The Frenchman described the first-half display as average despite the away side taking the lead against the run of play through Erik Lamela just after the half hour mark.

Lloris hoped that Spurs would be able to take control of the match after scoring but instead went into the break level at 1-1, claiming it brought Arsenal mentally back into the derby.

The 34-year-old claimed that Spurs struggled to create many chances in the second half until Lamela was dismissed for a second booking in the 76th minute.

Spurs have dropped 45 points from winning positions against Arsenal in the Premier League – the most of any team against a specific opponent in the competition.
