Tottenham Hotspur pulled themselves level against Newcastle United shortly before the half time break courtesy of a rare goal from Ben Davies.
The north Londoners found themselves behind in the match despite dominating proceedings when Schar scored from a slack free-kick that Hugo Lloris should have comfortably saved.
The equaliser came when Heung-min Son’s cross into the six-yard box saw Davies rise high and direct his header into the far corner to give his side a vital equaliser just before the break.
Harry Kane and Heung-min Son had both seen efforts on goal earlier in the match fail to find the back of the net.
