Dimitar Berbatov enjoyed a fleeting but memorable time in North London when he joined Tottenham from Bayer Leverkusen back in 2006.
The Bulgarian international scored an impressive 23 goals in 49 games in his first season for the club, before following up with yet another consistent 23 goals in 2007/08 (Wikipedia).
However, Berbatov only managed one game for Spurs in the 2008/09 season before securing a move to Manchester United, where he went on to win two Premier League titles and a golden boot.
Asked on Instagram what his fondest memories from his time at Spurs, Berbatov named the 2008 League Cup Final, although insisted that every game was special.
Berbatov on his memories at Tottenham:
“Winning the cup in 2008, beating Chelsea at Wembley, I scored in that game. My first trophy in England, it was a special moment.”
“Every game for Spurs was special for me. I loved it! I have so much respect and gratitude for the team.” pic.twitter.com/bxZk0ICepD
