Video: Bergwijn continues impressive goalscoring form with powerful volley vs Germany

Steven Bergwijn has continued his rich vein of goalscoring form during the current international period after finding the back of the net against Germany this evening.

The Tottenham Hotspur winger scored a goal in either half of Holland’s 4-2 friendly victory against Denmark at the weekend.

He opened the scoring with a header after 16 minutes and bagged his second after the break when he cut back inside to beautifully curl the ball beyond Kasper Schmeichel.

Bergwijn found himself on the bench for the friendly against Hansi Flick’s side at the Johan Cruijff ArenA and was called into action by Louis van Gaal in the 58th minute.

The 24-year-old took just ten minutes to get his name on the scoresheet when Denzel Dumfries headed the ball back into the path of Bergwijn who powered in a volley from six yards out to level the score at 1-1.

Three goals in two matches will give Bergwijn plenty of confidence when he heads back to Hotspur Way and it remains to be seen just how much game time he will get with Antonio Conte seemingly happy with his front three of Dejan Kulusevski, Harry Kane and Heung-min Son, while the Dutchman also has to contend with Lucas Moura when coming off the bench.
