Video: Bergwijn scores his second brace of the season against Kasper Schmeichel

Steven Bergwijn has bagged his second goal of the evening to put Holland 4-2 ahead against Denmark.

The winger picked up the ball on the left-hand side of the pitch and cut back inside on his right foot to curl the ball beyond Kasper Schmeichel in the Danish goal.

It wasn’t the first time in which Bergwijn has scored a brace against Schmeichel, having come off the Tottenham bench during the Premier League match at Leicester City to score twice in stoppage time to secure a remarkable 3-2 victory for the north Londoners.

Bergwijn had opened the scoring in the fifteenth minute when he headed home Danny Blind’s cross.

Former Spur, Christian Eriksen also scored within two minutes into his international comeback just 9 months after he suffered a cardiac arrest at the Euros.

Both of Bergwijn’s finishes this evening have been impressive and will certainly make Antonio Conte sit up and take notice.

Also, a mention has to be given to Christian Eriksen in a remarkable moment to score a well-taken goal upon his international return which does also ask the question of whether Spurs should bring him back to the club in the summer.
