Video: Brazilian officials stop Argentina match over English-based players’ quarantine status

Incredible scenes have been unfolding at Brazil vs Argentina match, which has been suspended with both sets of players out on the pitch.

The Brazilian Health Authorities have stormed onto the field of play over English-based Argentina players’ quarantine status which includes Tottenham Hotspur pair Giovani Lo Celso and Cristian Romero, along with Aston Villa’s Emi Buendia and Emi Martinez.

The four members of the Argentina national team travelled from the UK and are were under investigation by the Brazilian authorities for allegedly breaching quarantine rules.

The Daily Mail earlier claimed that the quartet could face 14 days of quarantine in Brazil before another 10 days on their return to the UK

The Argentina FA have since taken to Twitter to confirm that the match has been suspended.
