Brennan Johnson was the hero for his national side on Tuesday, having a hand in two goals as Wales emerged 4-1 winners in a crucial Nations League clash and finished at the top of their group.

Tottenham man makes amends for bad outing
Brennan Johnson had a game to forget in Wales’ 0-0 draw against Turkey last Friday, struggling to have much impact as the Dragons defended with ten men behind the ball for most of the encounter.
However, the winger made amends with a fine display in Cardiff on Tuesday as Wales put four past Iceland.
The Tottenham man was a threat down the right all game, finding the back of the net and setting up another goal as Craig Bellamy’s men registered an important win.

Brennan Johnson’s goal and assist
It was the away side that took a shock lead to silence the home crowd at the Cardiff City stadium, with Andri Gudjohnsen putting Iceland in front on seven minutes.
Liam Cullen headed home the equaliser on 32 minutes, glancing home an exquisite cross from the left foot of Brennan Johnson.
Cullen then completed the turnaround just before the half-time whistle to put the home side in front going into the interval.
Johnson then raced through on goal in the 65 minutes, turned on the after-burners to get away from the defender, and produced a composed finish across the goalkeeper to put his side 3-1 up.
Harry Wilson then put the icing on the cake to complete the scoring with a 4th goal for Wales in the 79th minute.
Wales progress to League A
To the delight of Bellamy’s men, Turkey fell to a shock 3-1 loss away to Montenegro in their final group match, which meant that Wales finished at the top of League B Group 4.
That means that the Welsh have sealed progress to League A for the next edition of the Nations League, alongside Norway, England and Czechia, who all won their respective groups in League B.
These four nations will thus be battling it out with the elite of European football in the next edition and will have a chance to compete for the Nations League title.
These four teams will take the place of Poland, Israel, Bosnia and Switzerland, who will drop down to League B after finishing at the bottom of their respective groups in League A.
