Video: Bryan Gil scores in Spain Under-21’s rout over Lithuania

Tottenham Hotspur winger Bryan Gil was on target for Spain’s Under-21’s in their 8-0 demolition of their Lithuanian counterparts yesterday evening.

The 21-year-old provided an assist for Rodri to score Spain’s third in the 35th minute of the UEFA Under-21 qualifier at the Estadio El Prado and got himself on the scoresheet three minutes later.

Sergio Gómez played in Gil on the edge of the opposition box and the Tottenham man controlled the ball before taking a couple of touches and firing the ball high into the roof of the net.

The north Londoners decided to send Gil out on loan in the January transfer window having moved back to La Liga to join Valencia until the end of the season.

Gil appears to be enjoying himself having returned back to his homeland and has impressed during his short stint at Valencia.

Whether Spurs will look to bring him back at the end of the season or look to cash in remains to be seen. Gil is slight in stature and the jury is still out whether he can deal with the physical nature of the Premier League.
