Video: Carragher and Neville dissect reasons behind Mourinho’s recent struggles

Jamie Carragher has said that Jose Mourinho’s role will be questioned if Tottenham do not start getting results, mainly due to the style of play that the Portuguese employs.

Carragher and Gary Neville dissected the main reasons behind Tottenham’s decline during Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football show, and while both were in agreement that the head coach could still turn things around, they admitted that a top-four finish was starting slip away from Tottenham’s hands.

Neville suggested that he is seeing some parallels between Mourinho’s issues at Manchester United and the problems he is having at Spurs.

The former Red Devils defender believes that the next four to five weeks will be crucial in determining which way the 58-year-old’s Tottenham career is headed.

To answer Carragher’s point, I do not think winning the Carabao Cup will be enough to keep Mourinho in the job if we finish a long way off the top four spots. However, there is still plenty of time for Jose to turn things around especially in a season like this one where a couple of wins can make a big difference.
