Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Jason Cundy has claimed that he is still to be convinced that Gareth Bale is still anywhere near the player he previously was.
Cundy believes that he has seen enough of the Welshman in action for Spurs this season to reserve his judgement.
When his talkSPORT co-presenter Andy Goldstein suggested that the more he has seen of Bale in action in recent weeks, the more impressed he has been.
Cundy, who is known to be an ardent Chelsea supporter questioned the quality of opposition that the 31-year-old has performed well against, labelling Wolfsberger as ‘Chickenburger’.
Bale scored twice against Burnley at the weekend and also found the back of the net in the Europa League second leg tie against Wolfsberger.
❌ Andy: “I don’t have doubts about Gareth Bale!”
🤣 Jason: “What, really?? He’s played Chickenburger & Burnley!?”
🔴 Andy: “He’s still world class. I’d have him at Man United…”
