Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Danny Murphy claimed that Jose Mourinho looked annoyed following the 3-1 defeat to Bayern Munich.
The Spurs head coach made a number of changes to his side by bringing in the likes of Ryan Sessegnon, Giovani Lo Celso, Juan Foyth and Kyle Walker-Peters into his starting eleven while leaving Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Serge Aurier and Jan Vertonghen back in London.
Murphy believed there were spells throughout the match at the Allianz Arena when it looked more like a testimonial rather than a competitive Champions League fixture.
He suggested that it was almost as if the players were not desperate to show him that they were worthy of a place in his starting eleven.
Despite levelling the score in the first half when Ryan Sessegnon netted his first goal for the club, Mourinho’s side rarely threatened Bayern and looked lethargic whilst failing to once again put the opposition under pressure.
"Jose Mourinho looked annoyed…at times it was like a testimonial."
Tottenham made six changes for their match against Bayern Munich, but did any players stake a claim?
