Ben Davies was Tottenham’s unlikely goal-scoring hero at the bet365 yesterday evening as the North Londoners overcame Stoke 3-1 to book a place in the EFL semi-finals.
With the game finely poised at 1-1, Davies unleashed a fearsome low drive from long range that went in off the post and gave the goalkeeper no chance.
The Welshman admitted that he just thought “Why not?” when the ball broke to him 30 yards out.
He also admitted that the conditions at Stoke were quite difficult for the players to do deal with and spoke about the struggles Spurs had in breaking the home side down.

Davies has been unlucky to not get on the scoresheet on a few occasions recently as he as struck the woodwork several times. It was great to see him finally being rewarded for a great strike.
