West Ham midfielder Declan Rice made his debut for England last night as the Three Lions opened their Euro 2020 qualification campaign with a 5-0 thumping of Czech Republic.
The 20-year-old who has had an impressive season with the Hammers came on as a 63rd-minute substitute and had a solid debut.
With Tottenham midfielder Eric Dier ruled out with injury, Rice is likely to start England’s next game against Montenegro on Monday night.
After the game on Friday, the 20-year-old was interviewed by West Ham’s official club channel and the midfielder used the opportunity to take a cheeky dig at Tottenham.
When Rice was asked what ran through his mind as he walked out at Wembley, he said that he remembered beating Spurs at the national stadium last season.
