Video: Dele Alli reveals the two Premier League sides he nearly joined

Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli has admitted in an interview to Sky Sports that he is his own harshest critic.

The midfielder was on the receiving end of severe criticism earlier in the season after failing to reproduce the form that saw him heralded as one of the best young talents in the world after first moving to White Hart Lane (Sky Sports).

However, the 23-year-old’s form has improved considerably in recent months and he has admitted that he is now in a good place both physically and mentally.

The England international also looked back on his Spurs career to date and revealed how he came close to joining Newcastle and Liverpool before his move to Spurs.

I’ve always felt that a lot of the criticism that Dele was getting back them was quite unfair. Given the injury problems he’s had, it was only natural that he was going to take some time to get back to his best. It is clear that the 23-year-old’s form has suffered a little since Kane’s injury but I believe he is still invaluable to the side as he is one of our most creative players.
