Tottenham Hotspur welcomed current European champions Real Madrid to Wembley under the lights for the battle of the top of Group H, with a winner able to book their place in the next round of the competition.
Spurs were boosted by the return of Harry Kane following a hamstring strain which saw him miss Saturday’s defeat to Manchester United.
Dele Alli gave Tottenham the lead after 27 minutes when he prodded home a ball across the six yard box from Kieran Trippier to send the home fans into frenzy. Minutes earlier, Toby Alderweireld had to be replaced by Moussa Sissoko after suffering a hamstring injury.
Spurs took their 1-0 lead into the half time break and nine minutes later Dele Alli doubled our lead, courtesy of a deflection from Sergio Ramos.
