Antonio Conte has claimed it was up to the team to play in a manner that would get the home crowd behind them in the first half against Leeds.
Conte registered his first Premier League win as Tottenham boss on Sunday, with his side coming from behind to win 2-1.
While there was a celebratory atmosphere after the final whistle, the Spurs fans did make their discontent heard at half-time after Marcelo Bielsa’s side dictated proceedings in the first half and took a 1-0 lead into the interval.
When asked about the crowd’s reaction, Conte insisted that it was the players’ responsibility to get the fans on their side.
Watch what Conte told Sky Sports after his side’s 2-1 win:
🗣 "The feeling of the crowd many times depends on us."

The fact that Conte’s men were playing on the counter-attack is not what the fans were objected to. The bigger problem was the team’s inability to create even one clear cut chance in the first 45 minutes. Perhaps the response at half-time from the fans helped in getting a reaction from the players after the interval.
