Dimitar Berbatov has warned Tottenham Hotspur that they must start finding consistency otherwise they are in for a rough ride.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side once again threw away a lead when they could only muster a 1-1 draw with Premier League newcomers Sheffield United.
Berbatov suggested that the North London club are the latest victim of the Champions League trend after losing in the final and then failing to reach the expected standard in the following season.
The Bulgarian drew comparisons with his time at Bayern Leverkusen where they made the final and battled against relegation in the subsequent campaign.
He has urged Spurs to up their game, especially at home if they are to challenge for a top four finish.
"As always happens with Spurs, they crack at the back… If you want to be a big team you don't want that to happen."
