Tottenham Hotspur have a number of exciting young players within their academy and Oliver Skipp has certainly been at the forefront of the system in the past two years.
The teenager made the leap from academy to first-team under Pochettino and has continued to impress under Mourinho, albeit without regular chances.
A clip has now emerged online from an U21 international back in November, during which Skipp and England took on the Netherlands (25:38 mark).
In the changing room, the Dutch lads can be heard raving about Skipp and even comparing him to £65m Barcelona signing, Frenkie de Jong (BBC).
Football London translated the Dutch player comments as:
“That Skipp guy is an annoying guy.”
“He can play nice balls, he’s a good footballer.”
“He’s very good in controlling the play. He keeps turning like Frenkie (De Jong).”
“Very annoying, I gave him a little push in the game.”
