Eric Dier has been opening up on why he decided to commit his future to Tottenham Hotspur.
News broke earlier this morning when the club’s official website confirmed that the 26-year-old had put pen to paper on a new deal which will run until 2024.
Dier, who recently has changed position from a holding midfielder to a central defender believes that he is at the beginning of a new journey.
After moving into the heart of the Spurs defence, he has outlined his ambition to become one of the best in the position in the Premier League and was a key driver to why he decided to remain in North London.
The England international wants to prove himself in the position in the English top flight and feels that Tottenham is the best place for him to meet his objectives.
Dier also claimed that Jose Mourinho’s desire to win trophies in North London was also a lure to extend his stay at the club he joined in 2014 from Sporting Lisbon.
