Among the Tottenham players involved in international action last night was midfielder Christian Eriksen. Denmark opened their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign with a tough away trip to Switzerland.
The hosts raced into a three-goal lead thanks to strikes by Remo Freuler, Granit Xhaka, and Breel Embolo, only for the Danes to rally back in the five minutes of normal time left in the game.
While Eriksen himself didn’t get on the scoresheet, he played the full ninety minutes and provided the assist for Denmark’s first goal scored by Mathias Jorgenson, which set the stage for the comeback.
