Video: Ex-Spurs player claims ’emotional’ Conte will reconsider his comments

Jamie O’Hara has insisted that Antonio Conte’s controversial post-match comments after Tottenham’s loss to Burnley were down to the Italian being emotional immediately after the final whistle.

It seemed as though Spurs had turned a corner with their win over Manchester City on Saturday, following three consecutive losses in the Premier League.

Conte even said after his side’s win at the Etihad that this was the best group of players he had worked with in his career in terms of their attitude (Evening Standard).

Heading into Tottenham’s clash at Turf Moor, the 52-year-old was speaking positively about making the club ready to compete for major honours and creating a winning mentality within the squad (Football.London).

However, Conte looked a defeated man after Spurs fell to a 1-0 loss to Sean Dyche’s men, hinting after the game that his position had to be reviewed with the Spurs hierarchy given the team’s recent struggles (Football.London).

O’Hara believes Conte will reconsider what he said once the dust settles down.

Here’s what the former Tottenham midfielder told talkSPORT about the Italian’s post-match comments:

Spurs Web Opinion

Conte has always been extremely emotional and he is not a stranger to outbursts in the media. However, one would expect him to have more control, especially after the things that have been said and written over the last week.

His behaviour is starting to look extremely erratic and his constant moaning is getting on my nerves. The 52-year-old has repeatedly made the point that the squad might not be good enough to finish in the top four, which most Spurs fans accept.

However, we certainly have the quality to be beating the likes of Southampton, Wolves and Burnley, and him constantly coming out with these controversial statements is not doing anyone any favours.
