Michael Dawson has shared his opinion on Gareth Bale’s comments about his future beyond the end of the season.
The 31-year-old revealed earlier this week after reporting for international duty with Wales that he plans to return to Real Madrid at the end of the current campaign, while his agent Jonathan Barnett claimed that the comments have been taken out of context and it is simply too early to know what his long-term future holds (ESPN).
Dawson played alongside Bale during the Welshman’s first stint in North London and admitted in an exclusive interview with SpursWeb that he was delighted by his return to the club but did concede that he has not hit the same heights this time around.
The former Spurs defender has sympathy for the fact that Jose Mourinho has kept chopping and changing his side which has not allowed Bale to build up consistency
With the coronavirus pandemic currently curtailing the ability for supporters to attend the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the central defender admitted it’s a shame that the North London faithful have not been able to pack the stadium to cheer their favourite son on.
