Video: Fabrizio Romano provides update on Toby Alderweireld’s future at Spurs

Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Toby Alderweireld’s situation at Tottenham Hotspur.

The Belgian international has found himself on the bench for Tottenham’s last three Premier League matches, including last night’s 3-1 defeat against Liverpool where the defence were at fault for all three of the goals conceded (transfermarkt).

Alderweireld also had a difficult match in his last outing when he struggled to cope at times with the physicality of Wycombe forward Uche Ikpeazu.

The 31-year-old was linked with a move back to his homeland earlier this week when Voetbal24 claimed that Club Brugge were interested in making a move for the former Ajax man in the summer.

Romano has told the Chris Cowlin YouTube channel that Alderweireld, much like Davinson Sanchez wants to fight for his place in the Tottenham team and prove his worth to Jose Mourinho.

Alderweireld is currently under contract in North London until 2023.
