Tottenham sank to a 4-2 defeat to Barcelona on a battered Wembley pitch last night in the Champions League.
The national ground turf had been churned up by a recent NFL game, something that Spurs won’t have to worry about in their new stadium.
The brand new 62,000 seat stadium will contain a special NFL pitch, but it will be separate from the grass Tottenham play on week in week out.
The Tottenham turf has been laid onto three retractable trays which, when stored under the south stand, reveal the second NFL pitch below.
The grass for the Tottenham portion was delivered on Monday via a convoy of refrigerated vans and was laid between Tuesday and today.
Latest fan footage shows the progress Tottenham workers have made in such a short space of time, virtually laying the entire pitch in the space of two days.
The Tottenham faithful will hope a final opening date isn’t far away.
